Region mourns passing of former Suriname President

The region is mourning the passing of former Suriname President Chandrikapersad Santokhi, who died on March 30, 2026, at age 67 following a medical emergency. President Dr. Irfaan Ali travelled to Suriname to pay tribute to his leadership and commitment to regional cooperation. The Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce extends condolences, recognising his contributions and valued support to SGCC’s establishment and bilateral engagement.
