SGCC Elects New Executive Leadership to Drive Next Phase of Suriname-Guyana Growth

At a time of accelerating economic activity across Suriname and Guyana, the Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce (SGCC) has elected its Executive Officers for the 2026–2027 term, positioning the Chamber to deepen private sector engagement and cross-border trade.

Executive Officers (2026-2027)

  • Chair - Mr. Mark Anthony Sookhai, Partner, M. Sookhai & Co. - A Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience, bringing strong expertise in financial stewardship and strategic leadership, contributing to regional economic development.

  • Vice-Chair - Mr. Navin Gangaram-Panday, Managing Partner (Suriname), RCFA Accountants & Tax Advisors - A Certified Public Accountant (USA) recognized for supporting businesses establishing and operating in Suriname.

  • Treasurer - Ms. Annabelle Carter-Sharma, Company Secretary & Operations and Quality Director, Total Property Management Services - Bringing a blend of technical and governance expertise, grounded in integrity and operational excellence.

  • Board Secretary - Dr. Vishnu Doerga, Chairman, ActionINVEST Caribbean Inc. - Co-founder of SGCC, with over two decades of leadership in investment, private sector development, and regional trade.

  • Dr. Alista Bishop, Founder, AX Investments & Consultants - Financial expert specializing in investment strategy and oil & gas advisory.

  • Mr. Brian Imambaks, Founder, Technovate N.V. - Technology and innovation leader focused on AI and automation solutions.

  • Mr. Derrick Klaverweide, Commercial Director, Optiek Ninon - Experienced commercial leader with regional business expertise.

  • Mr. Samuel Glasgow, Attorney-at-Law, Glasgow Law Practice - Corporate attorney advising businesses on legal and governance matters.

  • Mr. Jimmy Manna, Managing Director, Elgawa N.V. - Engineering and building technologies specialist driving innovation and efficiency.

  • Mr. Pritipaul Singh Jr., Managing Director, Guyana Port Inc. - Logistics and operations leader with maritime and industrial expertise.

  • Ms. Angelique Redjodiwirjo, Senior Commercial Manager, Fernandes Bakery N.V. - Commercial professional with experience in large-scale manufacturing and distribution.

The Chamber also extends its sincere appreciation to its outgoing Executive Officers and inaugural Board for their foundational leadership and service, which established SGCC as a credible and results-driven bilateral platform during a period of rapid economic transformation.

With new leadership in place, SGCC remains firmly focused on advancing private sector collaboration and strengthening economic ties between Suriname and Guyana as the importance of strong, sustained private sector collaboration continues to grow. As both countries continue to experience rapid growth across energy, infrastructure, and industry, the Chamber is committed to ensuring that opportunity is matched by partnership, supporting businesses to engage confidently across borders and contribute to long-term, shared prosperity.

SGCC serves businesses and partners in Suriname, Guyana, across CARICOM, and internationally, looking to engage across both markets - providing tailored support, facilitating cross-border connections, and delivering over 10 events and 12 targeted trade missions annually. At the center of this is its flagship platform, the International Business Conference (IBC) 2026, happening in Suriname on October 13-15, supported by SITA and G-Invest.
