GranMorgu project enters execution phase with arrival of first offshore equipment

April 20, 20261 min read

Suriname’s first large-scale offshore oil development, the GranMorgu project, has entered a new phase with the arrival of its first subsea equipment in Paramaribo. The delivery marks the transition from planning to offshore execution, with installation activities scheduled to begin in June 2026. The project, led by TotalEnergies, in partnership with APA Corporation and Staatsolie, represents an estimated US$10.5 billion investment and is expected to produce up to 220,000 barrels per day, with first oil targeted for 2028. As execution begins, opportunities are expected to expand across offshore services, logistics, engineering, and supply chain support, signalling increasing activity for businesses looking to position within Suriname’s emerging energy sector.
