John Jovanovic, head of the United States’ official export credit agency, will visit Guyana for high-level engagements with H.E. President Dr. Irfaan Ali, focusing on financing for major infrastructure, including the gas-to-energy project supported by US$527M in EXIM funding. His visit underscores continued U.S. backing for Guyana’s energy transformation and broader development pipeline. For the private sector, this signals expanding opportunities in project financing, supply chains, and energy services. Yet, global risks remain relevant. President Ali has previously cautioned against escalating conflict involving Iran, Israel and the US, noting the impacts on fuel prices, trade flows, and global economic stability.
