    Karran Sukhan, a 25-year-old businessman from Lot 143 Number 2 Village East Canje, Berbice, has been granted bail following his remand for abusing his partner, 20-year-old Joanna Ramator. Sukhan appeared in the New Amsterdam Magistrates Court on Monday before Magistrate Michelle Matthias.     As of mid-June 2025, a total of 58 persons lost their lives in accidents on the roadways. These deaths stemmed from the 54 road accidents which occurred between January 1 and June 14, 2025.
